Your visit to Costa Rica is not complete without knowing Montezuma; this small town in big attractions is the most visited of the Nicoya Peninsula in Puntarenas. Despite being so small there is no town around it to gather together so many attractions. Before a small fishing village, Montezuma is now known internationally and nationally as a touristic and fascinating place, a cheerful an interesting alternative in Costa Rica. Montezuma offers something for every type of visitor with unique shops and restaurants, lively nights and a spectacular nature. The famous waterfall of Montezuma - with three levels - is only a few minutes from downtown. The beaches around Montezuma are mostly solitary, striking with rows of palm trees, white sand and shells. You can walk the coast north of Montezuma and cross the nature reserve absolute Nicolas WESSBERG. In this way you will find beautiful places to drive to beautiful beach Playa Grande, a favorite place to surf, swim and a place where it is possible to sunbathe. In the next beach, Cocalito you can explore the famous waterfall El Chorro with outstanding views at the ocean. Just south of Montezuma in the way between Cabo Blanco and Cabuya you’ll find volcanic formations on the coast with some lonely beaches and rivers that finish at sea. On sunny days you can walk and find beautiful natural pool that will taste in hot days.

Montezuma is located on the southern tip of the Nicoya Peninsula and it was a small and remote fishing village until the 1980s when it started to gain reputation of being the ideal site for any budget and that until recently had no further tourism development.
It is a great place to stay by their lovely beaches, hotels and accommodations and its very good seafood with a lot of restaurants. Although this small town has a very calm atmosphere, is also a great beach holidays with thousands of young people and foreign tourists from all over the world. After the sunset, Montezuma is the ideal site for the peninsula to be as there are enough bars and discs for all the people.

Besides being able to enjoy surfing and snorkeling in the reefs, you can also practice in the boggie board and enjoy the horseback riding; these are just some of the activities that are popular here. If you want to enjoy your holydays in a calmer atmosphere, you just have to visit the lonely beaches of Cocal, Quizales and Cocalito and you will get a peaceful atmosphere, ideal for relaxing.
