Conchal Beach in Guanacaste, Costa Rica
Considered as one of the most beautiful and an exotic beach of the Costa Dorada in Costa Rica, Playa Conchal is located in the northern province of Guanacaste on the shores of the Pacific Ocean. Two miles away of Playa Brasilito, this beautiful beach is located quite close to the equally famous Flamingo Beach and the town of Tamarindo, a major tourist point in the area. Along with Playa Brasilito this beach is separated by a rocky promontory known as Punta Conchal, which gets its name from the sand found here that is composed of many millions of little remains of shells agglomerated.
If you want to reach these four miles of luxuries beach, it is necessary to take a flight from San Jose to Tamarindo and from there take a cab and takes a trip of almost 10 minutes. But you can also get there by taxi from the Daniel Oduber International Airport, located in Liberia, but it is a journey of about 45 minutes.
Playa Conchal is a fabulous beach with perfect weather almost all year, bathed in sunshine almost all the time and with more than 12 hours of daylight from December to April. The water remains always with a comfortable temperature and is ideal for swimming or snorkeling.

Near the beach are several hotels some quite luxurious. However, the tourist must decide whether it stays in one of these hotels because this beach has no other town nearby. Therefore it must be noticed that a resort of this caliber has a very expensive price. For those tourists who are low-budget traveler or just in passing, they can stay in Playa Brasilito.
Playa Conchal has one of the clearest waters of the Costa Dorada de Guanacaste, making it extremely attractive for those who likes to practice snorkeling and for those who simply enjoy the swimming. With a fantastic collection of marine life of all kinds, you can swim with many tropical fish that live here, or you can see the devil rays swimming in this area. For the more adventurous tourists, Conchal offers other sports like fishing in the open sea, scuba diving and other water sports. In case the tourists are bored of the beach, Playa Conchal is also close to national parks and nature reserves that possess an impressive biodiversity. Nearby there is also a small estuary. Playa Conchal is surrounded by cattle ranches and has some areas where you can do camping and sleep under the stars.
For the tourist who enjoys playing golf there is a very famous golf course located just a few steps from the beach. This field for championships was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and because of their comforting scenarios from the Pacific coast, is considered one of the best golf courses in Central America.
